About the Role The Country Medical Manager (CMM) is a trusted, externally focused, scientifically grounded partner within Roche's customer engagement model. By building and maintaining deep and trusted connections with key top-tier customers, the CMM will optimize medical practice and help Roche be a preferred partner in key disease areas, accelerating access to our portfolio across the asset lifecycle.
What You'll Do
- Contribute with Medical Expertise: provide strong scientific, medical, and therapeutic area expertise, acting as a medical expert for the pipeline and portfolio through the product life cycle, and shape local strategy.
- Proactive Customer Engagement & Insights: lead proactive, targeted medical engagement with external customers (TAEs, and other stakeholders), drive end-to-end strategies pre-launch and post-launch to optimize patient outcomes and accelerate broader adoption.
- Medical Partnership & Education: establish and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with external stakeholders, develop science-driven collaborations with TAEs, deliver high-quality medical education plans, support internal teams' scientific training, and disseminate data through non-promotional international/national scientific exchanges.
- Insight Generation: systematically conduct and translate external scientific and clinical insights (including patient perspectives) into strategic, differentiating recommendations; leverage medical advisory boards as sources of strategic counsel.
- License to operate & Operational Excellence: ensure all medical activities comply with Roche policies, regulatory requirements, and highest standards including GCP and GVP requirements.
- Evidence Generation: navigate disease area/asset through development, launch, and post-launch; contribute to global Integrated Evidence Plan (IEP) and develop the local IEP to reflect local regulatory and payer requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Strong medical or scientific background with deep therapeutic area expertise and the ability to inform differentiation of Roche's pipeline and portfolio.
- Proven ability to engage external stakeholders (KOLs/TAEs) and establish credible scientific partnerships.
- Excellent scientific communication and training skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Knowledge of and commitment to compliance standards (GCP, GVP) and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work in a matrix, cross-country context and partner with franchise teams to deliver end-to-end medical strategy.
- Experience in evidence planning or generation and ability to translate patient perspectives into strategic actions.
