About the Role

Anderson University’s Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships invites applications for a full-time Counselor. The Financial Aid Counselor supports the daily operations of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships while providing exceptional customer service to students and families. This position provides individualized counseling to students on all aspects of financial aid, including satisfactory academic progress for federal aid, state scholarship eligibility, renewal and enhancement requirements, and professional judgment considerations. Additional tasks include handling intake and follow-up with students and parents on items needed and/or incomplete and assisting with completion of verification of student ISIR data as required.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individualized counseling to students on all aspects of financial aid, including satisfactory academic progress for federal aid, state scholarship eligibility, renewal and enhancement requirements, and professional judgment considerations.
  • Manage intake and follow-up with students and parents on items needed and/or incomplete and assisting with completion of verification of student ISIR data as required.
  • Support the daily operations of the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
  • Ensure compliance with federal aid regulations and provide exceptional customer service to students and families.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in financial aid, student services, or related field.
  • Proven knowledge of federal aid process and regulations; ability to perform basic mathematical skills using American currency; ability to present information in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office; familiarity with Workday, Department of Education or similar systems (desirable).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; problem-solving abilities.
