We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Cost Engineer / Specialist

Job Locations: Delta, Lagos and Rivers

Responsibilities

• Generating costing and performance guidance
• Provide expert guidance in budget forecasting, strategic planning, contract execution, and compliance oversight. This includes the review and interpretation of contract terms and clauses to ensure alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements
• Establish Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and unique cost centers within the ERP system to enforce financial control
• Responsible for the comprehensive reporting of project costs and cost allocations, as well as the oversight and maintenance of all associated documentation control processes program
• Drive corporate Procure-to-Pay workflows, monitor contract value drawdowns, and maintain the department's commercial information database
• Ensure timely and accurate input into maintenance of department’s contractual information database
• Contract monitoring and Procurement Plan, Supplier information, expediting status reporting
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements as it affects contracting processes
• Review contractor proforma invoices, generate official Call-Offs, and execute Service Entries to enable smooth invoice processing
• Establish AFEs documentation, work breakdown structures and cost centers to control and report cost
• Ensure full support to budget and cost performance. Attend meetings, produce reports, create and maintain a database for budget control, and issue monthly reports
• Provide technical guidance for the development and optimization of performance standards
• Report to the drilling and Completion Manager on daily progress of operations, emphasizing critical jobs performed, discussing next courses of action, and obtaining instructions and clarifications on any amendments to the work program
• Manage and control schedules, ensuring efficient well cycle time
• Develop and update database
• Arrange contract documents and proforma invoices
• Provide Management with contract administration and cost control tools
• Generate Call-Off to create Service Entry
• Raise Service Entry to process Proforma invoice
• Groom younger staff for higher responsibilities and to provide for succession

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher national diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a related engineering discipline. An MSc in petroleum/geology or a related engineering field is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience spanning both office-based engineering and active field supervisory positions. A minimum of 5 years dedicated to complex, high-risk drilling environments is preferred

Technical Skills:

• Advanced mastery of ERP platforms (SAP Project Systems/Microsoft Dynamics), Wellview costing modules, complex Excel modeling, and AFE design tools. Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) or PMP credentials are preferred

Certifications:

• Valid BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) for field operations where applicable
• IWCF (International Well Control Forum) or IADC Well Cap Level certification, renewed every two years for field operations where applicable
