Cost Accounting Manager
We are looking for an experienced Cost Accounting Manager to lead cost control and inventory accounting activities for a manufacturing operation in Campbellsville, Kentucky. This role will oversee standard costing, analyze production spending, and deliver financial insight that supports operational and business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting knowledge, a sharp analytical mindset, and the ability to improve reporting accuracy across inventory and product costs.
Responsibilities

Direct cost accounting processes for manufacturing operations, ensuring accurate tracking of material, labor, and overhead expenses.

Maintain and refine standard costing methodologies to support reliable product costing and margin analysis.

Review inventory transactions and balances regularly to preserve accuracy in inventory valuation and financial reporting.

Partner with plant and operations leaders to evaluate cost trends, explain variances, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Prepare and analyze reports on production costs, inventory movement, and profitability to support management decision-making.

Lead month-end and year-end cost close activities related to inventory, manufacturing costs, and variance reporting.

Monitor cost drivers across the operation and recommend actions that strengthen cost control and reporting consistency.

Support process updates or accounting system-related changes affecting cost and inventory data when required.

At least 5 years of experience in cost accounting, with a strong background in manufacturing environments.

Demonstrated expertise in standard costing, cost analysis, and inventory accounting principles.

Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including material, labor, and overhead allocation.

Ability to interpret financial and operational data and communicate findings clearly to business leaders.

Experience preparing variance analysis and cost reporting to support budgeting and performance management.

Advanced analytical skills with high attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet-based financial analysis tools.
