Job Title: Cost Accountant

We’re looking to hire a talented Cost Accountant based in Denton, TX.
Reporting to the Plant Controller, the Cost Accountant plays a critical role in driving financial transparency and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, preparing cost reports, and partnering with cross-functional teams to optimize cost structures. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence strategic decisions and support ESAB’s mission of innovation and excellence.
Primary duties include analyzing and monitoring manufacturing costs, variances, and inventory valuation; preparing and maintaining standard cost models and cost roll-ups; collaborating with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities; supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes related to cost accounting; conducting margin analysis and providing insights to support pricing and profitability strategies; assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities related to cost and inventory; ensuring compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies; participating in continuous improvement initiatives and ERP system enhancements.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 3+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Working conditions: Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time; may involve walking, stooping, and standing. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment when visiting manufacturing and plant locations. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity tools. May be exposed to varying weather conditions during travel. Occasionally lifts or moves equipment up to 50 lbs.; uses safety tools for heavier items.
