Job title: Corporate Counsel, Legal Operations
About the Role The Corporate Counsel, Legal Operations will provide practical legal counsel to AbbVie's Operations function in a global, fast-paced environment. The role supports business integrity and innovation by applying foundational legal knowledge to regulatory, compliance, and business operations matters, with exposure to manufacturing facility transactions, integration, and contract manufacturing arrangements.
What You'll Do
- Provide legal counsel on compliance, regulatory, and business operations matters.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to assess legal risks and support ethical, compliant business decisions.
- Interpret evolving U.S. laws and regulations in connection with practical application for advisory.
- Communicate legal concepts clearly to cross-functional partners.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on projects, contracts, or investigations that impact business strategy.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of services agreements related to manufacturing operations.
- Support various stages of manufacturing facility transactions, including legal due diligence, coordinating cross-functional teams on operational readiness, and post-close integration to align acquired facilities with company standards, contracts, and compliance frameworks.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in the job location.
- 1+ years of relevant legal experience, with some in-house or healthcare compliance experience preferred.
- Preferred: 3+ years of legal experience, with some in-house or healthcare compliance experience preferred.
- Exposure to biopharma, healthcare, or life sciences compliance topics.
- Strong legal writing, research, and communications skills.
- Interest in growing a legal career in a complex, global organization.
Nice to Have
- Experience with manufacturing facility transactions or post-close integration is a plus.
