Corporate Accounting Manager

Meta is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. This is a full-time position on our Compensation & Benefits Accounting pillar, within our Corporate and Infrastructure Accounting team. This role is based in Menlo Park, CA.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. You will own a defined set of compensation and benefits reporting areas end to end, working with limited direction. You will set the direction for how those areas are accounted for, reported, and controlled — designing and scaling the processes and technology behind them, not just operating them. The role combines hands-on close execution with project leadership, and success depends on building effective partnerships across Finance, Payroll, Equity team, and our external service providers.

Corporate Accounting Manager Responsibilities

• Own key compensation and benefits financial reporting areas (P&L and balance sheet) within Corporate and Infrastructure Accounting, setting the accounting and reporting direction for those areas.
• Perform and review payroll accounting and reporting as part of Meta's monthly US GAAP close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Perform and review stock-based compensation accounting and expense recognition under ASC 718.
• Deliver timely reporting for the quarterly SEC reporting cycle, including management reporting, insights, and analysis.
• Maintain compliance with key controls and audit requirements, and provide accounting support to our statutory compliance teams.
• Lead projects to identify, design, test, and roll out new financial reporting systems and tools, partnering with our global team to build scalable accounting processes, systems, and controls.
• Define and drive standardization of compensation and benefits accounting processes across regions and entities, influencing partners outside your direct area to adopt them.
• Build business partnerships and manage service levels with outsourced service providers.
• Build relationships with cross-functional teams to understand broader business objectives and provide accounting guidance.
• Act as a trusted advisor to non-finance partners, communicating the financial statement impact of their operational choices in clear, actionable terms.
• Apply AI and automation to prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, and to identify and resolve issues, so that the close is faster, more accurate, and more controlled.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6+ years of accounting experience within the Record-to-Report or Corporate Accounting function of a large, multi-national company
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, other relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience applying US GAAP, including ASC 718 (stock-based compensation)
• Experience leading process or system improvement projects end to end, including design, testing, and rollout
• Experience communicating financial results and analysis to senior stakeholders, and collaborating with teams distributed across multiple locations
• Experience working with Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel, and understanding end-to-end systems that affect accounting and financial reporting processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Recognized accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, or ACCA)
• Experience in the compensation and benefits accounting function of a large organization
• Any combination of experience in public accounting and in a technology company
• Experience with Oracle ERP and/or Hyperion Essbase
• Familiarity with responsible, ethical AI practices in a work environment (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews), and demonstrated ongoing AI skill development such as prompt or context engineering and agent orchestration
• Experience operating in an environment with a mature internal control and data privacy framework
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

United States of America: $114,000/year to $167,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
