Coordinator of Athletics Communication
The Coordinator of Athletics Communication serves as the secondary sports communication contact for the athletic department utilizing a wide-ranging multimedia approach to enhance the Springfield College athletics brand and highlight the program, coaches, and student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Assists in all athletics communication efforts, including news releases, gameday operations, statistics collection and management, photography and videography, social media and creative content.
- Assists in managing the athletics website (SpringfieldCollegePride.com) and social media platforms.
- Assist in developing the department's graphic design and video content creation.
- Assist in content strategies based on current trends for social media platforms.
- May serve as the lead contact at the conference, regional, and national level for assigned sports and/or serve as the primary contact for a select number of varsity teams.
- Assists with providing appropriate guidance to coaches, student-athletes and staff members regarding media inquiries.
- Assist with internal and external athletic related communications, including annual salient events.
- Responsible for assigned gameday video stream and video production systems used for intercollegiate contests and practices.
- Supervise and work in collaboration with sports communication graduate and undergraduate students including graduate fellow, pre-practicum, practicum, and student-workers, providing guidance, training, and development.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is required. A degree in Communications, Sports Journalism, Sport Management, or Journalism along with one year of directly related experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of journalism, website development and maintenance, sports statistics and terminology, video editing and production, and graphic design.

Occasional travel required for championship conferences or designated team administrator.
