Job title: Coordinator, Clinical Experience
About the Role The Coordinator, Clinical Experience leads the operational coordination of undergraduate nursing clinical placements across traditional, evening/weekend, and accelerated BSN programs. They manage complex placement processes in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and serve as a key liaison between the School of Nursing and regional healthcare partners to ensure high-quality clinical learning experiences.
What You'll Do
- Lead the operational coordination of undergraduate nursing clinical placements across programs (traditional, evening/weekend, and accelerated BSN).
- Manage complex clinical placement processes, scheduling, compliance, and placement requests in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Serve as a primary liaison between the School of Nursing and regional healthcare partners to maintain collaborative partnerships.
- Oversee clinical scheduling operations, monitor compliance, and ensure accurate placement data.
- Maintain relationships with healthcare organizations to support high-quality clinical learning experiences for students.
- Prioritize and analyze operational needs, resolve issues impacting students, faculty, and clinical partners, and manage competing priorities across programs.
- Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in nursing, healthcare administration, education, business operations, public administration, or related field); experience in business operations, project management, academic administration, healthcare operations, or program coordination; experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with fixed deadlines and high accountability; experience with databases, scheduling or placement systems, and Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced); valid driver’s license and ability to establish driver eligibility under CSU policy.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in nursing, nursing education, healthcare administration, or related field; eligibility for or possession of an active, unrestricted Ohio nursing license; experience coordinating clinical placements, internships, practica, or field experiences in higher education or healthcare settings; experience with large undergraduate or professional programs; experience with nursing curriculum development and teaching in a baccalaureate nursing program.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): knowledge of clinical education, experiential learning, or academic operations in higher education or healthcare; knowledge of healthcare systems, organizational structures, and clinical operations across acute care, ambulatory, and community-based settings; knowledge of accreditation, regulatory, and compliance requirements related to clinical education student placements; skills in coordinating complex schedules, operational workflows, and competing priorities across multiple programs and academic timelines; strong customer service and relationship management skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple complex assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines; ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and problem-solving; ability to analyze operational information, identify process gaps or risks, and implement solutions; ability to communicate effectively across departments and organizational boundaries; proficiency with clinical placement platforms and enterprise applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Grade 07; pay range not disclosed; full-time, salaried position (annualized).
- Hours per week: 40; Work schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 am–5:00 pm.
