Spaulding Academy & Family Services is seeking a Cook to join our Food Services team! The Cook works to produce the highest quality food that is both appealing and nutritious for our student population. Operating in a collaborative dining environment, this role involves preparing balanced meals across all service periods, supporting special events, and maintaining strict safety and sanitation standards on campus.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
• Culinary experience preferred, or a demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of special dietary regimes, dietary protocols, and meal preparation for specific nursing instructions.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including standing up to 8.5 hours and lifting up to 25 lbs. independently (50 lbs. with assistance).
• Comfort working in a specialized educational setting with children who may experience emotional or behavioral outbursts, maintaining a patient and professional approach at all times.
• Knowledge and Skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, staff, and students.
• Excellent organizational skills and the self-motivation required to multi-task and work independently.
• Proficiency in menu design, soup production, salad bar preparation, and service line management.
• Solid understanding of food safety, equipment sanitization, temperature logging, and production record maintenance.

• Full-time or part-time options available with open availability required. Work schedules generally consist of 8-hour days, 5 days per week (up to 48 hours per week), including rotating weekend shifts to ensure dining hall coverage Sunday through Saturday.
