About the Role The Cook II is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet our standards for taste, presentation, and safety. This role operates in a fast-paced kitchen to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction, assists in menu preparation and ingredient selection, and maintains kitchen cleanliness and organization. Collaborating with other kitchen staff, the Cook II upholds food safety regulations and supports a positive team environment to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of food to ensure consistency and appeal.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to manage inventory and minimize food waste.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed.
- Adapt to changing menu items and special dietary requests efficiently.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods and handle kitchen equipment safely.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Nice to Have
- Culinary degree or certification from an accredited institution.
- Experience with diverse cuisines and menu development.
- ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification.
- Previous experience in a high-volume or fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and ordering procedures.
