Job Summary

MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Controls Engineer at our Plymouth, Michigan manufacturing facility. In this role, you will design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot control and automation systems that support manufacturing efficiency, quality, safety, and reliability.

Location: Plymouth, MI

Work Arrangement: On-site

Schedule: 1st Shift

Pay: $80,000-$100,000 per year

Employment Type: Full-time / Salary

What You'll Do as a Controls Engineer Design, develop, and implement automation systems for manufacturing and related processes using control systems, instrumentation, and automation technologies.

Develop new and modify existing PLC, HMI, and embedded control applications and interfaces to meet operational requirements.

Support the setup and commissioning of new manufacturing facilities and upgrades to existing control systems.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve control system malfunctions and complex technical issues.

Recommend system improvements that enhance operational efficiency, reliability, quality, and performance.

Create and maintain detailed specifications, system configurations, operational procedures, and other technical documentation.

Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to support the effective deployment and operation of control systems.

What You'll Bring Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree.

2-4 years of hands-on experience in control systems engineering, PLC programming, HMI development, and automation.

Strong understanding of control systems, PLC programming platforms such as Siemens and Rockwell, HMI development, and embedded systems.

Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.

Solid math and analytical abilities for problem-solving and system optimization.

Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in technical work and documentation.
