Reporting directly to the CFO, the selected candidate will play an important role in ensuring reliable financial information, improving accounting workflows, and supporting the company's continued growth. This position is well suited for a hands-on accounting professional ready to take on broader responsibilities within a U.S.-based organization.
Key Responsibilities

- Maintain the general ledger and prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, debt schedules, payroll-related accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Perform balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Apply U.S. GAAP and accrual-basis accounting principles consistently across multiple entities, locations, departments, and service lines.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budget-to-actual comparisons, variance analysis, and other management reporting for the CFO.
- Collaborate with the Payroll Lead and Billing Manager to reconcile payroll, billing, collections, revenue, and related accounting activity.
- Support year-end financial statement audits or reviews by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and coordinating with external accountants and tax advisors.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, internal controls, reporting accuracy, and month-end close efficiency.
- Maintain and improve accounting workflows using QuickBooks Online, Excel, Power BI, Reach Reporting, or similar tools.
- Assist the CFO with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, and accounting projects as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting.
- Previous experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, or in a comparable role with increasing responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accrual-basis accounting, preferably within a U.S.-based company.
- Experience preparing financial statements, reconciling balance-sheet accounts, reviewing general ledger activity, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly and collaborate directly with the CFO.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage deadlines and work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or progress toward a relevant accounting certification.
- Experience in healthcare services, particularly home health, homecare, hospice, or other multi-location service organizations.
- Experience supporting companies with $25 million or more in annual revenue.
- Familiarity with accounting across multiple legal entities, locations, departments, or service lines.
- Experience supporting external financial statement audits or reviews.
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives, accounting automation, and month-end close optimization.
- Familiarity with Homecare Homebase (HCHB), AxisCare, Power BI, Reach Reporting, or similar healthcare and financial reporting systems.
Work Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, with required overlap with U.S. business hours. The final schedule will be agreed upon with the selected candidate.
Team Structure
The role works closely with the CFO and collaborates with the Payroll Lead and Billing Manager. This is an individual-contributor position with no direct reports, offering an opportunity to take ownership of core accounting processes while contributing to the development and improvement of the company's finance function.
