About this role

Position Overview

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close activities. This individual will provide financial insight to leadership while maintaining a hands-on approach to the day-to-day accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities
Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records
Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls
Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy and decision-making
Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial analysis activities
Support audits, tax reporting, and compliance requirements
Mentor and develop accounting staff
Drive process improvement initiatives across the accounting function

Work Environment

On-site leadership role
Monday-Friday schedule
Collaborative and team-oriented culture
Approximately 45-hour workweek with occasional additional time during peak periods

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
5+ years of Controller or senior accounting leadership experience
Strong financial reporting and accounting operations background
Proven ability to lead teams and partner with executive leadership
Hands-on leadership style with willingness to work in the details
Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience within construction, contracting, manufacturing, engineering, project-based, or similar operational environments
Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, or percentage-of-completion accounting
Experience leading accounting teams through process improvements and organizational change
