Control and Electrical Technician (CET)

About the Role The Control and Electrical Technician (CET) repairs plant instrumentation and control systems under the direction of a maintenance supervisor to support safe, reliable steam plant operations. The role installs, maintains and troubleshoots electrical power and control equipment, pneumatic/hydraulic sensing systems, and data acquisition and communications schemes in plant facilities. What You'll Do

• Repair plant instrumentation and control systems under the direction of a maintenance supervisor.
• Install, modify, adjust, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair AC and DC electrical power and auxiliary supply equipment (low voltage and medium voltage).
• Repair pneumatic and hydraulic sensing, measuring and control equipment; perform general electrical work; maintain data acquisition systems, coordinated control, supervisory, communications systems, telemetering and other control schemes in steam plant facilities.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and wiring diagrams. When assigned, direct and instruct trainees and helpers.
• May perform other maintenance functions as assigned with appropriate training.
• Work rotating 12-hour shifts when necessary.
• Test, repair and calibrate plant instruments and controls.
• Apply knowledge of computer software to maintenance tasks. What We're Looking For
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent; documented journeyman level experience; pass a written test demonstrating journeyman level knowledge.
• Demonstrated coursework in mathematics, electrical theory, and electronics.
• Knowledge of plant control systems such as turbine control computer and plant computer monitoring systems.
• Ability to test, repair and calibrate plant instruments and controls.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to instruct and train apprentices in maintenance of plant instrumentation and control systems.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts when necessary. Nice to Have
• Working knowledge of drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with turbine control computer systems and plant computer monitoring systems.
• Ability to direct and train apprentices in maintenance of plant instrumentation and control systems. Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: Hiring Range: $54.36 per hour.
