Our Mining and Rock Excavation Australia (RDT) are looking for adaptable and dynamic Contract Operatives to support our consumables contract on a 7 on 7 off roster in Zeehan.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Perform all duties and functions on the mine site in accordance with the highest standards of workplace safety, work practices and site-specific instructions and requirements
• Comply, at all times, with the site-specific requirements for wearing and use of personal safety equipment and procedures.
• Maintain safety clothing and equipment in a neat and serviceable condition at all times
• Carry out repairs and maintenance to drill consumables in accordance with the Product and Service Contract associated with the delivery of RDT products to all Drill rigs
• Ensure all rigs have adequate stock to meet site drilling requirements.
• Record and report daily usages via Tablet device and liaise with administration for contract processing and invoicing
• Visit underground mining operations sites, as required, and inspect, check and verify quantities of drilling consumables on each machine
• Arrange delivery of replacement serviceable items to the machine in place of those removed.
• Liaise with Drill rig operators and Mining Management on a daily basis, maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
• Assist the Contract Supervisor in investigating all reported product issues including and not limited to consumable faults or premature failure
• Remove blunt, damaged or worn consumable items from the machine and record the quantities removed on the ‘Daily Consumable Report’
• Inspect, sort and classify bit and accessories delivered for refurbishments
• Repair and Refurbish all RDT products in accordance with Epiroc standards
• Paint refurbished items and arrange delivery to sender Quality Assurance
• Conduct daily and periodic operator checks and maintenance on refurbishment equipment and site vehicle subject to incumbent’s knowledge and capabilities.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Contract Supervisor subject to appropriate training, qualifications and capability

Ideally, you will have the following:

• Forklift ticket
• Tablet/PC/email/copier skills
• Manual Driver’s license and be a confident manual driver
• Ability to cope with pressure and set backs
• Ability to adapt and respond to change
• Be a team player and communicate effectively
• Follow instruction and procedure
• Experience in a similar role
• Industry experience
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• A LR License would be desirable however not essential
