Job title: Contracts Manager

About the Role The Contracts Manager leads contract management for ANDRITZ's Hydropower North American team, overseeing review, drafting, commenting, negotiating, and interpreting contract terms to protect ANDRITZ's interests and mitigate project risks on EPC capital projects. We’re seeking an experienced leader with a proven track record in derisking, negotiating, and settling complex contracts for EPC projects.

What You'll Do

  • Sales & Tendering: Actively participate in and lead tender teams in preparing proposals (contract redlines, internal approvals, insurance reviews, etc.) and negotiating contracts with customers; provide contractual advice to proposal teams for escalated contractual risks and commercial topics as part of tendering and negotiation process; support negotiations with customers on major projects.
  • Project Execution: Oversee contract management processes in the business segments; provide strategic or tactical approach for settlement of claims; guide project teams in managing contract deviations (change orders, claims, amendments, etc.); coordinate any legal advice as needed; participate or lead negotiations of major claims and change orders; occasionally support purchasing with negotiation of purchase orders and settlement of claims or defining risks.
  • Administrative tasks: Support the department’s annual goals & objectives; assist in resource planning for the department.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in contract administration; FAR/DFAR experience; experience working on contracts with Federal agencies is preferred.
  • Degree in Commerce, Administration, Engineering, law or other relevant university degree; experience drafting and negotiating complex supply and purchase agreements in the project environment; advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand schedules and other technical terms; knowledge of business law and commercial contract principles; experience in hydroelectric or construction industry is an asset; travel occasionally and/or ability to obtain clearance to enter Federal Secured Facilities promptly.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; detail oriented; ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous activities; assertive and highly proactive with ability to adhere to strict reporting deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in hydroelectric or construction industry is an asset; familiarity with EPC capital projects is a plus.
