About the Role
SASSA invites unemployed youth to apply for government entry-level positions as Contract Workers: Grants Review. The role supports beneficiary reviews, grant data validation, and service centre processes across multiple districts in Gauteng. It may involve field work including home visits and mobile review operations to ensure correct grant administration. What You'll Do
- Conduct beneficiary screenings and completing manual applications.
- Perform file-level reviews and validations.
- Assist beneficiaries in navigating service cubicles.
- Verify documentation and information submitted for review.
- Identify frail or immobile beneficiaries and conduct home visit reviews.
- Participate in mobile review operations in remote or underserved areas.
- Assist with mass review events held at community halls or municipal offices.
- Update beneficiary records in the SOCPEN system and other relevant platforms.
- Capture and maintain accurate grant data.
- Identify cases for suspension, lapsing, recovery of overpayments, or referral for investigation.
- Support document tracking, filing, and preparation of review reports.
- Scan and index documentation to ensure completeness and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with registry and review teams to meet daily processing targets.
- Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards. What We're Looking For
- Grade 12/Matric with basic literacy and numeracy.
- Foundational computer literacy.
- Willingness to work in community settings, with ability to travel for home visits and mobile reviews. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: R170,226 – R200,523 per year plus 37% in lieu of benefits per annum (Salary Level 3).
