Job title: Contract Manufacturing Technical Support Engineer
About the Role Provide technical support to contract manufacturers for executing the assembly processes, assembly processes qualification/buyoff, ECN/ECO implementations, deviation controls, troubleshooting product functional failures to meet defined standards of quality and on-time delivery, materials form-fit qualifications, and components qualifications. Identify and resolve critical manufacturing and quality issues and drive the contract manufacturers and suppliers to closure to yield results. Be Teradyne's first point of contacts and escalation for process/assembly related issues and provide deviation authorization as were appropriate. Act as a primary interface with the Teradyne NPI Ops team/Engineering team during the release of new assemblies or revisions to assemblies already in use at North Reading, MA.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical support to contract manufacturers for executing assembly processes, qualification/buyoff, ECN/ECO implementations, and deviation controls.
- Troubleshoot product functional failures to meet defined standards of quality and on-time delivery, and qualify materials form-fit and components.
- Identify and resolve critical manufacturing and quality issues and drive contract manufacturers and suppliers to closure to yield results.
- Serve as Teradyne's first point of contact and escalation for process/assembly related issues and provide deviation authorization as appropriate.
- Act as the primary interface with the Teradyne NPI Ops and Engineering teams during releases of new assemblies or revisions, including coordination with the North Reading, MA site.
- Ensure onsite collaboration at the Ayutthaya contract manufacturing site to support manufacturing operations.
What We're Looking For
- Experience providing technical support to contract manufacturers for assembly processes, qualification/buyoff, ECN/ECO implementations, and deviation controls.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot product functional failures and to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
- Experience with materials form-fit qualifications and components qualifications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, and ability to drive issues to closure with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
- Familiarity with coordinating with NPI Ops/Engineering teams during new assembly releases or revisions and with remote sites such as North Reading, MA.
- Willingness to work onsite at the Ayutthaya contract manufacturing site in Thailand.
