The Planet Group is looking for a Content Specialist & Visual Designer to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 11-months contract, working a hybrid schedule out of Cupertino, CA.
Content Specialist & Visual Designer | Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5+ years in corporate communications, executive reporting, editorial writing, journalism, or presentation/visual design.
- Synthesis & Analytical Storytelling: Demonstrated ability to digest complex project documentation and distill it into clear, audience-appropriate takeaways.
- Mastery of Apple Keynote: Expert-level presentation design skills with a strong eye for typography, layout, storytelling flow, and executive-level polish.
- Exceptional Writing & Editorial
Skills
- Proven track record of writing clear, compelling, error-free copy across executive briefings, newsletters, and long-form features.
- Eye for Modern Web Design & Layout: Solid understanding of digital UX/UI principles, information architecture, and web aesthetics (no programming/coding required).
- AI Tool Fluency: Comfort and enthusiasm for using generative AI tools to assist in drafting, ideation, asset creation, and rapid web prototyping.
- Graphic Design & Photo Illustration: Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or Sketch) to produce custom digital assets.
- Executive Presence & Discretion: Ability to iterate quickly based on senior stakeholder feedback and handle sensitive, confidential project data.
Content Specialist & Visual Designer | Description:
- Status Synthesis & Multi-Tier Executive Reporting
- Regularly review and ingest complex project, program, and initiative status reports from cross-functional teams.
- Synthesize technical and operational updates into clear, concise, and narrative-driven summaries.
- Package and adapt findings into tailored formats for different stakeholder tiers--ranging from tactical team dashboards and weekly rollups to executive briefings and senior leadership readouts.
- Executive & Enterprise Presentation Design
- Design, structure, and polish high-stakes Apple Keynote presentations for senior leadership and enterprise-level distribution.
- Translate complex data, roadmaps, and strategic initiatives into clear, visually compelling narratives and slide decks.
- Uphold brand standards, typography, visual hierarchy, and polished animation/transition mechanics.
- Written Communications & Journalism
- Research, interview subject matter experts, and write engaging copy across multiple formats (executive memos, team updates, feature articles, and announcements).
- Apply journalistic rigor to uncover stories, synthesize information, and craft cohesive narratives.
- Edit and proofread content for tone, clarity, precision, and consistency.
- Newsletter Production & Publishing
- Own end-to-end production of team and organization-wide newsletters (copywriting, curation, visual layout, and email/web distribution formatting).
- Optimize readability, engagement, and cross-platform compatibility.
- AI-Powered Web Design & Layout (No Coding Required)
- Leverage modern internal AI creation tools to generate and publish internal team sites, landing pages, and resource hubs.
- Apply strong web design sensibilities (visual hierarchy, spacing, responsive layout, and information architecture) to review, refine, and polish AI-generated sites.
- Graphic Design & Photo Illustration
- Create custom photo illustrations, banners, infographics, and supporting visual assets for newsletters, decks, reports, and web pages.
- Source, retouch, and curate high-quality imagery that aligns with brand aesthetics.
