Job title: Consultant Engineer II
About the Role FM seeks a Consultant Engineer II to learn to engineer risk management solutions within a mentorship-based, field-oriented environment. This role supports property risk management for policyholders and their owners, with a development period of 12-18 months and access to FM’s engineering expertise and research.
What You'll Do
- Perform hands-on site assessments of the physical property, including roofs
- Conduct evaluations of site water supplies, dust hazards, chemical storage, and rack storage for client products
- Ensure FM Engineering Standards are followed and communicate recommendations and engineering solutions to clients
- Work from a home office and travel to client facilities daily; overnight travel is expected about 20%-40%
- Travel to Natural Catastrophe sites as needed
- Support field visits, office work, and projects for large commercial and industrial occupancies and hazards
- Learn gradually to assess risks at larger, more complex properties by visiting client facilities and performing evaluations in collaboration with clients on-site risk management
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (specialties considered)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry (production, project, or safety related preferred)
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication; MS Office proficiency
- Efficient time management with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid technical aptitude and broad engineering knowledge
- Authorization to work in the country of application
- Physical ability to lift 25 pounds, climb ladders, balance, and work at heights
- Valid driver’s license; company car provided

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 83,000 - USD 119,000 per year
