Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and results-driven Construction Site Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, execution, and successful completion of construction projects. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and project personnel, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, to the required quality standards, and in compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from commencement to completion and handover.
- Develop and monitor project schedules, milestones, work plans, and deliverables.
- Monitor progress and identify potential delays, risks, and project challenges.
- Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and work plans.
- Supervise daily construction activities and site personnel.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, quality, and compliance with agreed timelines.
- Resolve site-related issues promptly and escalate major issues to management.
- Ensure proper site organization, housekeeping, security, and efficient use of resources.
- Work with the Quantity Surveyor to control project costs.
- Review contractor valuations, payment applications, variations, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate the timely procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and other resources.
- Inspect completed works and ensure defects are identified and corrected.
- Ensure only approved materials and construction methods are used.
- Ensure compliance with site health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare regular project progress reports for management and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, approvals, variations, drawings, and project correspondence.
- Communicate project progress, challenges, risks, and recommended solutions to management.
- Ensure required completion documents, as-built drawings, and handover documentation are properly compiled.
- Support the successful handover of completed projects to the client.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-5 years' relevant experience in construction/project management.
- Proven experience managing construction projects from planning through completion.
- Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, BOQs, project schedules, and cost control.
- Professional certification/membership with relevant bodies such as COREN, NSE, NIQS, NIOB, NIA, PMI, or equivalent is an advantage.
- Experience with construction/project management software is an advantage.
Salary
N210,000 - N220,000 monthly.
