Job title: Construction Project Manager
About the Role
Construction Project Manager will oversee day-to-day construction activities and manage safety/performance for project teams and subcontractors, coordinating planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development and risk reviews to ensure successful delivery of one or more projects.
What You'll Do
- Adhere to safety programs, trainings, and policies, and promote the Safety & Health performance of project team members and subcontractors
- Provide direction and participate in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishing critical project objectives
- Develop and manage client relationships while interfacing with the client for proposal and project related items
- Participate in internal and external project risk reviews and consult with Legal Department as required
- Negotiate prime contracts, CM contracts, subcontracts, and change orders
- Implement assigned sections of the Project Execution Plan, including construction execution, QA/QC, safety & health, subcontracting, staffing, organization chart, and procurement
- Develop construction staffing plans and train project teams, coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, and facilitate efficient cost-effective staffing while adhering to contract and performance requirements
- Oversee development of the project plan for site layout, mobilization/demobilization and ensure permits are secured
- Direct and oversee the downstream RFP and bid process and prepare detailed scope of work documents for subcontractor/client contracts, including bidder development, prequalification, evaluation, award recommendation, and selection
- Review, approve, and communicate reports including project budgeting, cash flow forecast, and project status
- Present reports to Project Manager, Program Manager, and executive management as required
- Collaborate with engineering to develop engineering deliverables per schedule
- Develop processes for contract administration (RFIs, submittals, change management, closeout, documentation, and claims mitigation)
- Oversee invoicing for prime and subcontractor contracts; coordinate commissioning/startup activities
- Implement and audit project documentation; confirm insurance, taxes/duties, licensures, and bonding requirements
- Perform safety, quality, progress and financial audits; participate in non-conformance reporting
- Manage cost reporting, scheduling, WBS setup, field progress tracking
- Develop and oversee materials receiving and management (inventory control, receipt, storage, transport)
- Review contract documents with field staff for compliance with safety, quality and schedule
- Manage project turnover, warranty, closeout, and recordkeeping/retention processes
- Support communications with governmental, industry, and public entities on project matters
- Provide mentorship and training to interns and junior staff; provide performance feedback
- Manage community/building trades relationships and, as required, labor agreements
- Onboard craft/field supervision; manage staffing and labor burden classifications and progression
- Ensure craft competency, training standards and installation rate estimates; manage earned value, schedule, change and cost metrics
- Oversee construction equipment management to ensure adequate inventory
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field and 7 years of relevant project management experience in construction (degree requirements may be substituted by equivalent experience)
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and analytical/problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle large volumes of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Experience on construction project sites or program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transportation, transmission & distribution, or water preferred
- Basic understanding of GAAP
- Must meet driving requirements
Nice to Have
- Experience across the listed industries and/or program management in multi-site/global projects
- Prior experience with risk reviews, subcontracting, change management, and legal coordination
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and ability to manage large, diverse teams
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $67 - $76 per hour USD
