Construction Manager, Transit

About the Role

As an Owner’s representative for Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects, you will provide executive oversight of construction activities for transit infrastructure projects and lead a team of engineers, inspectors, and project controls to deliver safe, on-time, and on-budget outcomes. You’ll partner with Client leadership to shape strategy and manage delivery from mobilization through closeout. What You'll Do

• Act as the Owner’s representative for project delivery; provide executive oversight of construction activities, staff, and consultants.
• Lead and direct Resident Engineers, inspectors, project controls personnel, and support staff.
• Maintain full accountability for project-wide safety; drive a proactive safety culture and oversee contractor safety programs.
• Manage construction execution from mobilization through closeout; ensure alignment with project scope, contractual requirements, and Client objectives.
• Monitor schedule and budget performance; report to executive leadership; identify and mitigate project risks and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate across engineering, construction, and operational interfaces; oversee contract administration, claims, and change management; negotiate complex change orders.
• Ensure conformance with all contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements; advise Client leadership on contractual risks and commercial strategies.
• Integrate engineering/design coordination, construction management, QA/QC, materials testing, environmental compliance (CEQA/NEPA), third‑party coordination, and community outreach; lead constructability reviews and provide input on design packages.
• Provide executive oversight of CPM scheduling, phasing, and sequencing; validate cost controls, forecasts, and contingency management; direct recovery planning if required.
• Represent the Client in public forums, community meetings, and interagency coordination; maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders; coordinate with transit operations to minimize service disruptions.
• Onsite at client site; expect some in-person collaboration; Accenture will be as flexible as possible to support work/life. What We're Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 12+ years of construction management experience on large-scale infrastructure or transit projects.
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects valued at $50M+ (preferably larger).
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience managing major construction contracts of similar size and scope.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Bonus points for Professional Engineer (PE), CCM, or PMP certification; FTA-funded project experience, Buy America/BABA compliance; rail systems or complex transit infrastructure experience; familiarity with EV charging infrastructure.
• Proven experience acting as an Owner’s Representative or in a client‑facing consulting role. Nice to Have
• PE, CCM, or PMP certification (if not already listed above)
• Experience with FTA-funded projects and Buy America/BABA compliance
• Rail systems or complex transit infrastructure experience
• Familiarity with EV charging infrastructure projects
• Prior Owner’s Representative or client-facing consulting experience Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $180,000 - $210,000 per year (USD).
• On-site work with client; some in-person time; flexible to support work/life; benefits vary by country and role.
