About the Role The Construction Litigation team at Perkins Coie seeks a midlevel Associate Attorney in San Francisco, Palo Alto, or Los Angeles to support a nationally recognized construction practice. The role combines litigation and transactional work, focusing on counseling, dispute resolution, and contract negotiation.

What You'll Do

  • Represent clients in construction-related litigation, including delay and disruption claims and payment disputes (e.g., mechanics' liens, bonds, and stop notices).
  • Draft and negotiate construction contracts, change orders, and other construction-related agreements.
  • Support transactional work related to construction projects and collaborate with cross‑practice groups.
  • Develop strong client relationships and contribute to the firm's growing construction practice.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of construction law or equivalent experience.
  • Experience litigating a range of construction disputes, including delay/disruption, payment disputes, and breach of contract.
  • Experience in preparing and negotiating construction contracts; excellent written and oral communication.
  • Excellent academic credentials, strong references; CA Bar membership required; prior AmLaw 100 and judicial clerkship experience preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with transactional construction work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • California compensation range: $260,000 to $365,000 annually.
