Construction Lab Technician

Job Summary
- Responsible for conducting laboratory and field tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and approved procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct tests on soil, concrete, aggregates, asphalt, and other construction materials.
- Perform field tests, including soil compaction, slump tests, and concrete sampling.
- Collect, prepare, and test material samples in accordance with approved standards.
- Record test results, prepare reports, and maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Monitor material quality and report non-conformities to the Quality Control Engineer.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with site engineers and the QA/QC team to resolve material quality issues.
Requirements

OND, HND, or BSc in Civil Engineering, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.

2–5 years of relevant experience in construction materials testing.

Practical knowledge of soil, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt testing procedures.

Familiarity with relevant ASTM, BS, or other applicable construction testing standards.

Ability to prepare technical reports and maintain accurate test records.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
