Job title: Construction Instrumentation Supervisor
About the Role Construction Instrumentation Supervisor will oversee subcontractor activities for the instrumentation discipline on the project in Chile, ensuring that plant construction works are performed according to erection schedules, project documents, and safety and quality standards. The role reports to the Construction Manager and involves collaboration with project teams on constructability studies, bid clarifications, and subcontract scope definitions. Some on-site presence may be required while allowing home-office work where possible.
What You'll Do
- Prior to the start of works, check the Supplier’s material and technical documentation delivery schedule to ensure alignment with construction schedules and contractual commitments.
- Verify that equipment and manpower employed by the Subcontractor are adequate and that works conform to design documents, safety regulations, and quality levels.
- Prepare the non-conformity register for each Subcontractor and coordinate non-conformity resolution.
- Detect design errors and, where possible, rectify them or request Site Engineer to make necessary changes.
- Check Subcontractors’ work progress status sheets and sign them for approval.
- Manage vendor specialists; assist the Contract Engineer in defining new prices, preparing amendments to subcontracts, and analyzing/ disputing/claims where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with project requirements and assist in procurement/contract activities as needed.
What We're Looking For
- University Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Similar role on at least three projects of comparable size; proven past experience in electrical supervision activities.
- Strong knowledge of SPMAT (Marian); experience in construction/modernisation of industrial/refinery/EPC large plants; at least 5 years in the specific discipline; experience on the contractor side.
- Fluent English; excellent IT and analytical skills; strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; self-motivation.
