Job title: Construction Field Engineer
About the Role Kiewit's Northern California District seeks Construction Field Engineers to support a high-profile Santa Clara TBM project. This on-site role contributes to planning, scheduling, and field problem-solving on a $3B infrastructure effort with multiple stations and TBM portals.
What You'll Do
- Read and understand plans and specifications; visualize 2D drawings in 3D and identify field conditions, problems, and cost-saving measures
- Assist with development and maintenance of the project master schedule using Primavera and input from project management
- Assist with Monthly Time Impact Analyses (TIAs) and short-term schedule development (90-day and 3-week look-ahead)
- Review drawings/contracts for changes, quantify impact, and track change orders
- Produce progress and cost reports; perform progress and quantity audits; support QA/QC procedures; help develop project procedures
- Travel to jobsites as needed and communicate with project teams
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years experience in Project Controls/Project Engineering
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Primavera; SAP experience preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering plans and contract documents; ability to summarize data for management
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills; team player with initiative and ethics
- Willingness to travel and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- TBM or large-scale underground infrastructure project exposure
- Experience with SAP integration and reporting
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year, with potential Cost-of-Living adjustment for select Northern California locations
