About the Role The Conflicts Specialist role at WilmerHale involves guiding and monitoring the conflicts review process for new client matters and updates to existing matters, ensuring timely intake and accurate analysis. The position acts as a resource to attorneys and staff, manages internal client expectations, and supports smooth daily operations of the conflicts department.
What You'll Do
- Facilitate and monitor new business workflow for new client matters and updates to existing matters and perform conflicts of interest analysis for such requests.
- Research, review, and summarize conflicts reports associated with new client business and other requests and apply engagement terms to effectively handle assignments to conclusion.
- Monitor intake mechanisms and entire workflow process to facilitate the smooth and timely daily operations of the department.
- Actively manage internal clients’ expectations by effectively communicating project status and issues, resolving concerns and escalating and trouble-shooting as needed.
- Serve as an informational and procedural resource for attorneys and staff regarding new matter opening, generating related procedures and guidance.
What We're Looking For
- Experience conducting conflicts checks and performing conflicts of interest analysis for new client matters.
- Ability to research, review, and summarize conflicts reports and to apply engagement terms.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage intake workflows and interface with internal clients.
- Capability to clearly convey project status, resolve concerns, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Familiarity with new matter opening processes and related procedural guidelines.
