Concrete Plant Batcher

Job Title: Concrete Plant Batcher Department: Operations Location: Flamsted, St Albans UK

Job Purpose

To operate and manage the concrete batching plant, ensuring the accurate production and timely supply of ready-mix concrete in line with customer requirements, quality standards and health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the concrete batching plant safely and efficiently.

• Accurately batch and mix concrete to the required specifications and customer orders.

• Control the supply of raw materials, including cement, aggregates, sand and admixtures.

• Monitor stock levels and report low materials to ensure continuous plant operation.

• Maintain accurate production records, delivery information and batching reports.

• Carry out routine plant checks and report any faults, breakdowns or maintenance requirements.

• Ensure the plant, equipment and working areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.

• Follow all company procedures, health and safety requirements and environmental regulations.

• Assist with troubleshooting plant issues and minimise production downtime.

• Communicate effectively with the operations team to manage daily workloads and priorities.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a concrete batching plant or similar production environment.

• Good understanding of concrete production, materials and batching processes.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A strong commitment to health and safety.

• Basic computer skills for operating batching systems and recording production data.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience using automated concrete batching software.

• Knowledge of concrete mix designs and quality control procedures.

• Relevant plant operation or health and safety qualifications.

• Full UK driving licence.
