ACSI is seeking experienced Concrete Finisher Apprentices & Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success. Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the concrete finisher will finish concrete floors, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, bridge decks and other concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Place wet concrete into the forms and spread it to a specified elevation. Level and smooth the surface, round the edges and make joints or grooves to help control cracking on the surface. Apply architectural, exposed, patterned or stamped, broom and smooth finishes on concrete surfaces. Repair, waterproof and restore concrete surfaces. Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.

• Requirements and Experience

• Fall Protection/Working at Heights - In class

• Experience as a Concrete Finisher in an industrial construction environment. Knowledge of dry pack grout and epoxy materials, understand how to cure concrete, and proper use of power tools associated with the trade. Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time. Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg. Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments. Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies. Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal. Candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check.
