Job title: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
About the Role Cape Fox and Concentric Methods, LLC are seeking a qualified Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to provide CT imaging services to service members in an outpatient setting at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, CA. This non-exempt, hourly role pays a total of $57.63 per hour for up to 40 hours per week (base $52.70 plus $4.93 H&W) in accordance with SCLS.
What You'll Do
- Perform a full range of diagnostic CT examinations (neuro, chest, abdomen, pediatric, extremity, body, musculoskeletal) as specified by exam protocol.
- Adhere to radiation safety policies and regulatory requirements (ACR, JRCERT, JCAHO) and facility procedures.
- Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF protocol.
- Correctly position the patient and make technical adjustments for the required examination; determine if special patient preparation is needed.
- Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists; document procedures and maintain records per MTF policy.
- Conduct system calibrations and daily/periodic quality control tasks per manufacturer and MTF policy.
- Recognize artifacts and equipment errors; notify designated Government personnel of outlying values; initiate repair calls and log the issue.
- Report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section and record in the trouble call logbook; liaise with Government supervisor.
- Observe and report any symptoms bearing on the patient’s condition; implement emergency measures for cardiac or respiratory arrest if needed.
- Serve as a CT Technologist in a general medical and surgical hospital, independently performing complex CT procedures; assist in developing and maintaining QI/QC programs.
- May provide consultation to other MTF radiology departments; schedule, receive, and review requests; determine procedures and equipment to meet patient needs.
- Explain procedures to patient and family; start IV fluids and monitor devices; administer IV contrast per protocol and Universal Precautions.
- Ensure proper documentation, complete patient records, and timely image processing; monitor equipment status and coordinate with GE/MEDRAD for maintenance.
- Perform daily CT scanner QC checks; verify emergency equipment and medications are current; contribute to identifying improvements and corrective actions.
- Assist Government supervisor in QA/QC investigations and in developing QC procedures for new radiologic exams; modify procedures as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Four (4) years CT experience either in a military setting or from METC or an academic program accredited by JRCERT, or equivalent combination.
- ARRT CT certification.
- One (1) year of experience as a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist.
