About this role

About the Role The Composite Fabrication Technician will contribute to the fabrication, assembly, and installation of composite structures for Stratolaunch's aircraft and testbeds. This role involves wet and prepreg layups, assembly, vacuum bagging, and curing processes, with strict attention to tooling, drawings, and safety. What You'll Do

  • Fabricate, install, and assemble composites and components including wet lay-up and pre-preg lay-up processes
  • Perform dry fit, sub-assembly, and integration of aircraft components
  • Prepare parts for vacuum bagging, ensure conformity to tooling during cure cycles, and manage bagging processes
  • Monitor curing cycles in ovens and operate related equipment
  • Identify defects and notify shop leadership; maintain a culture of safety and FOD/tool control
  • Read and interpret written work instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas and operate ground handling equipment (scissor lifts, forklifts)
  • Work at heights above 15 ft and in confined spaces as needed
  • Wear respirator and comply with safety requirements What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in composite airframe and structure fabrication, installation, and assembly
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Level I or Level II pay scale tied to experience
  • Strong understanding of FOD and tool control; detail-oriented with lean manufacturing knowledge
  • Safety-minded, capable of solving problems, and able to work independently with initiative
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs; willing to work overtime and varied shifts
  • Current A&P license is a plus; travel to offsite locations may be required
  • Experience with high-temperature materials (BMI resins, titanium, high-temp epoxies) and precision assembly techniques is a plus Nice to Have
  • Experience with laser metrology, precision tooling, and jigging
  • Experience with thermal protection system materials
  • Certification or experience in reading complex tolerances and performing high-tolerance assemblies Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly salary range: $32.00 - $52.40 USD
  • 9/80 schedule; healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription drugs)
