Job Overview
Mercor is looking for experienced Compliance Officers to help evaluate and improve cutting-edge AI systems. In this role, you will use your practical compliance and regulatory experience to review AI-generated compliance content and workflows, assess regulatory accuracy, and provide expert feedback on how effectively AI systems handle compliance-related tasks. The work focuses on areas such as regulatory analysis, licensing reviews, eligibility determinations, enforcement reasoning and compliance recommendations.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate AI-generated compliance assessments for quality, accuracy and regulatory relevance.

Review regulatory analyses, licensing reviews and enforcement-related outputs.

Compare AI-generated responses based on regulatory rigor and evidentiary soundness.

Assess the quality of AI reasoning in compliance and enforcement scenarios.

Review eligibility determinations and license or permit-related assessments.

Evaluate violation reporting and regulatory recommendations.

Identify weaknesses, inaccuracies or gaps in AI-generated compliance work.

Provide clear, structured expert feedback to improve AI system performance.

Eligibility & Required Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of professional experience in compliance, regulatory affairs or a closely related field.

Relevant backgrounds may include Compliance Officer, Compliance Analyst, Compliance Manager, License Examiner, Regulatory Affairs Specialist or similar roles.

Experience examining, evaluating or investigating compliance with laws, regulations, licenses or permits.

Experience preparing findings, assessments or enforcement reports.

Strong written English communication skills.

Ability to commit 20+ hours per week.

Compensation
Approximately $12,133.33 to $19,066.67 per month
This equivalent assumes a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.
Mercor states that the initial task is paid on a task-based basis following approval of the first task. Experts who complete the first task within the required timeline may then qualify for hourly payment for the remainder of the project.
Payments are made weekly through Stripe or Wise.
