About the Role Join AIG as a Complex Director in Excess Claims to lead handling of some of the largest and most complex casualty claims. This role focuses on investigation, evaluation, and disposition of multimillion-dollar 3rd party property and casualty claims, with emphasis on coverage review under excess policies and strategic litigation direction. What You'll Do
- Lead investigation, evaluation, and disposition of multimillion-dollar 3rd party property and casualty claims, including multi-vehicle auto accidents, plant explosions, class actions, and product liability.
- Review coverage under Excess Commercial General Liability and auto policies; participate in claim investigation and control litigation strategy.
- Direct litigation, attend mediations and trials, assess liability and damages, and recommend reserves; present large-value cases to senior management.
- Obtain appropriate authority to independently negotiate multimillion-dollar claims with top plaintiff attorneys nationwide; document evaluation, thought process, and strategy.
- Develop investigation strategies identifying issues affecting liability, causation and damages; assess risk transfer and contribution opportunities; utilize ADR as appropriate.
- Strategize and budget litigation with counsel, vendors, and insureds; establish clear ground rules with defense and coverage counsel to maintain budget and expenses.
- Communicate clearly with insureds, brokers, attorneys, and claimants; manage expectations and document exposure evaluation and resolution strategy.
- Maintain professional standards and customer service for internal and external stakeholders. What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills.
- Advanced experience in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation.
- Experience attending and controlling cases pre-suit, litigated and post-trial (at mediations, settlement conferences, etc.).
- Property and Casualty licenses required, must be obtained within 6 months.

- Base salary range: $112,000 - $140,000 depending on location; eligible for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.
