About the role
We are seeking a Competitive Data Scientist to join a fully remote team. This contractor role requires approximately 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule, allowing you to choose your working hours and days.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building reproducible environments, preparing datasets and dependencies, and implementing verified reference solutions
- Developing robust tests and evaluation criteria to distinguish correct solutions from incomplete or flawed approaches
- Running coding agents against tasks, analyzing their failures, and refining tasks based on observed behavior
- Identifying implementation errors, flawed assumptions, data leakage, and other issues affecting correctness
- Documenting task requirements, solution approaches, and verification steps clearly
We are looking for data scientists, machine learning practitioners, and applied mathematics experts with demonstrated experience in data science or research competitions such as Kaggle, DrivenData, Zindi, AIcrowd, Numerai, or CodaLab. Strong problem-solving skills and practical programming experience are essential, with proficiency in Python, testing, and debugging considered a significant plus.
This position is open to candidates located in India, with experience ranging from 1 to 30 years. The salary range for this role is 10 to 100 LPA.
