POSITION SUMMARY

The Competitive Analysis Leader – Asia is a strategic analytics role responsible for driving competitive intelligence, market pricing analysis, and margin optimization across all Asia countries. This role will serve as the subject matter expert on competitor pricing strategies, market price positioning, and VCM/margin profitability analytics, while owning the accuracy and continuous improvement of the Pricing Sentinel — a Power BI-based pricing intelligence tool used to guide pricing decisions based on historical data within the organization.

This role combines deep analytical rigor with business acumen, directly influencing Vertiv's pricing competitiveness and commercial success across the Asia region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Competitive Pricing Analysis

• Conduct in-depth analysis of competitor pricing strategies, positioning, and trends across all Asia markets for Vertiv's full product portfolio - Power, Thermal, IT Systems, Infrastructure Solutions & Services.

• Monitor and track pricing movements from key competitors and regional players.

• Develop and maintain competitive pricing databases, benchmarking frameworks, and intelligence dashboards.

• Deliver actionable competitive insights and recommendations to regional leadership, sales teams, and product management.

• Market Pricing Analysis

• Analyze market pricing dynamics across Asia countries, accounting for regional variations, currency fluctuations, channel structures, and local competitive landscapes.

• Identify optimal pricing positions for Vertiv products in each market, balancing competitiveness and profitability.

• Provide data-driven pricing recommendations to support go-to-market strategies, new product launches, and bid/tender pricing guidance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand local market positioning and pricing intelligence.

• Pricing Sentinel Tool (Power BI) Custodian

• Primarily responsible of the Pricing Sentinel Power BI tool, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and relevance across Asia.

• Utilize the win/loss project database that drives the tool's recommended price bands for all Vertiv products.

• Ensure the tool serves as a reliable and up-to-date reference for Sales, Engineering, Bid Management, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Drive continuous improvement of the tool, incorporating user feedback, new data sources, and advanced analytics capabilities.

• Conduct regular data validation, quality audits, and reconciliation to maintain the highest level of accuracy.

• Provide training and support to end-users across the region on tool usage and interpretation of price band recommendations.

• Margin / VCM Analysis

• Perform detailed margin and VCM analysis across product lines, business units, and countries to identify profitability trends and improvement opportunities.

• Develop margin waterfall analyses to understand pricing leakage and value realization.

• Support pricing governance by providing analytical insight into deal-level profitability and discount patterns.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize pricing for margin improvement while maintaining competitive positioning.

• Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

• Present competitive intelligence findings to senior leadership and cross-functional teams on a regular basis.

• Collaborate closely with regional Sales, Bid Management, Engineering, Product Management, and Finance teams.

• Produce monthly/quarterly competitive landscape reports, pricing dashboards, and executive briefings.

• Support strategic pricing decisions for large/complex deals and key tenders across Asia.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Statistics, or any related field.

• Master's Degree (MBA, M.S. in Analytics/Finance) is a strong plus.

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in competitive analysis, pricing strategy, market intelligence, or commercial analytics.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling, VBA/macros is a plus).

• Proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI or any similar platforms).

• Working knowledge of large data extraction and manipulation is preferred.

• Familiarity with statistical analysis methods and pricing analytics models.

• PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

• Ensure OH&S risk assessment are conducted in your respective responsible areas.

• OH&S related doc shall be documented, updated as and when necessary.

• Ensure the implementation of the OHS Management Programme to ensure OHS objectives are achieved;

• Ensure all OHS related procedures and work instructions are observed and followed.

• Ensure proper maintenance of PPE(s) that assigned to you.

• To cooperate and support to SHC committee during workplace inspections, OHSMS internal & external audit.

• TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

• 10% (occasional travelling for training, workshops, physical meetings, etc.)
