About the Role Albert Lea Economic Development Agency is seeking to communicate its Compensation & Classification Services offering for local governments. What You'll Do
- Review existing job descriptions, compensation plans, pay equity reports, and policies.
- Develop compensation plan options aligned with organizational pay philosophy.
- Evaluate current classification structure and identify potential equity or compression issues.
- Analyze compensation data from comparable communities and organizations.
- Model financial impacts and provide implementation strategies.
- Deliver findings, recommendations, and administrative guidance.
- Provide budget implementation options and support through labor negotiations.
- Engage in ongoing maintenance to maintain pay grids, job descriptions, and pay philosophy, avoiding large-scale studies every 4–6 years.
What We're Looking For
- Experienced practitioners with extensive experience designing and evaluating compensation systems for local governments.
- Proficiency with multiple evaluation systems and a track record of practical, understandable analyses.
- Ability to conduct multi-method analyses and tailor solutions to client needs.
- Willingness to provide implementation support beyond reports and participate in budget and labor negotiation processes.
- Commitment to ongoing maintenance and long-term partnership with clients.

- Experience working with cities, counties, higher education institutions, quasi-governments, and other special districts.
