About this role

Key Responsibilities

  • File and maintain company records with precision.

  • Translate notes and dictations into typewritten form.

  • Perform various clerical tasks within commercial organisations.

  • Open, sort, distribute, and file correspondence, both in hard copy and electronic formats.

  • Utilise appropriate software to produce correspondence, memoranda, and reports.

  • Keep and retrieve documents, set up and maintain a filing system, and reproduce copies of documentation as required.

  • Arrange meetings, circulate agendas and other meeting documents, attend meetings, and take and prepare minutes.

  • Ensure office supplies, such as stationery and equipment, are well-maintained.

  • Qualifications and Skills

  • No minimum academic requirements, although entrants to professional secretarial courses typically require GCSEs grades A-C.

  • NVQs/SVQs in Administration are available at levels 2, 3, and 4.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Proficient in using office software and tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
