Job title: Commodity Manager for Polymers, Performance Chemicals & Packaging Category

About the Role Commodity Manager for Polymers, Performance Chemicals & Packaging Category will work in Copeland's Global Procurement Team, reporting to the Procurement Director of Supply Chain. Based in Suzhou, you will manage APAC and Global lubricants, chemicals, labeling and packaging material categories, guiding strategy and cross-functional projects.

What You'll Do

  • Align with Global Category to develop sourcing strategies aligned with Copeland’s business needs and market trends.
  • Analyze commodity spend and supplier base; create and execute annual action plans.
  • Drive cost reduction via reverse auctions, RFPs, negotiations, localization and supplier leverage; lead cost reduction and avoidance projects.
  • Manage inflation and ensure attainment of Global AOP and BU P&L, while improving procurement KPIs such as payment terms, contract terms, supplier lead time, and on-time delivery.
  • Conduct supplier audits, evaluations and scorecards; lead contract negotiations and capacity reviews.
  • Improve supplier delivery, quality and service; implement risk mitigation and contingency plans; use global tools for supplier risk and sustainability.
  • Support Global and BU NPD and NPI projects; source candidates, run NPD RFPs and SWOT analyses.
  • Define sourcing strategy, monitor supplier and parts development, and drive ramp-up speed and capacity to meet NPD goals.
  • Collaborate with Global Category and BU teams, ensuring successful launches and long-term success.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree required; majors in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, Metal/Non-metal Materials, or related fields; Master’s preferred.
  • At least 10 years of purchasing, commodity management and supply chain experience; experience in Lubricants, Chemicals, Label or Packaging is a plus.
  • Strategic mindset, strong business insight, results-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in project management.
  • Experience in multinational manufacturers.
  • Excellent English communication within global teams.
  • Experience in oil-free centrifuge compressor manufacturing is highly welcomed.

Nice to Have

  • Expertise in Lubricants, Chemicals, Label and Packaging.
  • Experience with OFC projects and related NPD processes.
