Job title: Commissioning Project Manager
About the Role The Commissioning Project Manager will support Chinook’s clients by coordinating and delivering commissioning services across the facility planning, design, construction, warranty, and operations lifecycle. This onsite role in Arlington, VA requires technical excellence, proactive problem solving, and leadership to guide project teams through complex commissioning activities.
What You'll Do
- Execute commissioning, energy management and facilities management services for new and existing buildings on multiple concurrent projects.
- Prepare commissioning plans, specifications, checklists, functional performance tests, and reports.
- Conduct design reviews, submittal reviews, and facilitate training plans and O&M manual reviews.
- Witness functional performance testing and resolve coordination issues affecting startup and testing.
- Ensure conformance with project requirements, commissioning plan, and contract documents; attend project meetings.
- Review technical reports for completeness and accuracy; facilitate transition of systems to operations and maintenance programs.
- Develop relationships with internal staff, external teams and clients; support bid/proposal documentation; prepare schedules and status reports; conduct QA on deliverables.
- Prioritize tasks to meet budgets and schedules; travel to various sites as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field).
- 8+ years direct commissioning experience; 4+ years managing or supervising people.
- CxA/CCP/CBCP or equivalent commissioning certification.
- U.S. citizenship with Active Secret or higher security clearance; valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, PowerPoint).
- Deep knowledge of commissioning standards and practices (LEED, ASHRAE, BCA, ACG, GSA).
- Experience with ASHRAE Energy Audits and energy engineering.
- Able to work onsite at customer locations and travel as required.
Nice to Have
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
- Experience integrating mechanical systems with electrical, life safety, and security systems.
- Experience with database management systems for commissioning and core business processes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $150,000 - $165,000 per year, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- Onsite work with client site locations; travel as required.
