Job title: Commissioning Electrical Supervisor
About the Role The Commissioning Electrical Supervisor oversees electrical commissioning activities on site, ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety regulations and project procedures. The role reports to the Commissioning Electrical Superintendent and coordinates with vendors and client representatives to execute tests and certifications during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
What You'll Do
- Develop detailed pre-commissioning procedures for Electrical Items & Packages, and procedures for functional tests of electrical items according to the instructions of the Commissioning Electrical Superintendent.
- Field-check the DAC and prepare relevant commissioning punch lists, following CME instructions.
- Monitor progress and enforce safety rules, ensuring activities align with schedule and procedures.
- Organize and manage field operations of the assigned subcontractor team, controlling their tasks and implementing Plant Safety procedures in case of emergency.
- Maintain logs of all activities to monitor progress and apply recovery actions as needed.
- Supervise electrical substation power-on and motor run tests in the field; ensure TAG-OUT/LOCK-OUT procedures are applied.
- Support vendor specialists and coordinate their actions with the Commissioning Supervisors; supervise vendors’ specialists and optimize their utilization.
- During interlocks, logic and sequence testing, verify that MCC actions from the operator board are properly performed.
- Carry out operation of the starters as per the approved work permit request.
- Ensure all activities are witnessed by the Client; prepare and sign off relevant certificates and hand them to the certification engineer.
- Act as authorized person to receive or issue permits as designated by the site manager; work per the project Permit to Work Procedure.
- Expedite pending punch list items in accordance with Commissioning Superintendent priorities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably within the construction or oil and gas industry.
- Relevant experience in three major EPC projects in oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; strong management and team-oriented abilities; self-motivation and problem-solving orientation.
