Job Description

Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items.
Follow standard recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
Support the Sr. Chef and Bakery team in daily mise-en-place.
Ensure all baked products are consistent in quality, taste, and appearance.
Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all bakery ingredients.
Uphold hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently (mixers, ovens, proofers, etc.).
Assist with inventory control, stock replenishment, and waste reduction.
Work closely with the team to ensure timely preparation for buffet setups, events, and daily service.
Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.

A formal culinary education, such as a diploma or degree in baking and pastry arts, provides a strong foundation in baking techniques, ingredient handling, and food safety.
Baking Expertise: Candidates should possess a solid understanding of various baking methods, including bread, pastry, and cake production, along with knowledge of different doughs, fillings, and decorating techniques.
Experience Level: Candidates should have at least 1-2 years of prior experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen.
Menu Knowledge: Familiarity with international and regional bakery items, as well as the ability to adapt recipes to suit guest preferences.
Attention to Detail: Precise measurements, timing, and presentation are crucial in baking.
Hygiene and Safety: Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is essential.
Team Player Attitude: The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
