Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Mercure Hyderabad KCP as our new Commis 1 - Pasty.

As a Commis 1 – Mercure Hyderabad KCP, you will support the pastry team in preparing and presenting high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked products in accordance with the hotel’s standards. You will work closely with Pastry Chefs and other culinary team members to ensure consistent quality, cleanliness, and efficient kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, baking, decoration, and presentation of pastries and desserts
• Prepare ingredients and perform basic pastry techniques according to recipes and instructions
• Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and sanitation
• Ensure pastry equipment, workstations, and storage areas are clean and organized
• Follow recipes, portion controls, production schedules, and food-safety procedures
• Assist with mise en place and daily pastry production
• Properly store ingredients and finished products to maintain freshness and quality
• Support the Pastry Chef and senior team members during daily operations and special events
• Minimize food waste through proper handling, storage, and portioning
• Follow hotel policies, HACCP requirements, and workplace safety standards

Qualifications

• Previous experience or formal training in pastry or bakery is an advantage
• Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
• Good attention to detail and presentation
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced professional kitchen
• Willingness to learn and take direction from senior chefs
• Good teamwork, discipline, and hygiene practices
• Culinary or pastry qualification is an advantage
