About the Role At AIG, we are reimagining how we help customers manage risk. Join us as a Commercial Liability Claims Adjuster, TPA Oversight to lead and oversee third-party administrator-driven claims, delivering timely, fair, and cost-effective resolutions. This role blends expert claims analysis with collaboration across underwriters, TPAs, and coverage counsel to manage exposure and ensure compliance with claim handling guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Analyze and process first-party property damage claims by investigating information to determine exposure and develop action plans for prompt, cost-effective resolution.
- Direct independent adjusters to gather information to determine exposure and control costs.
- Identify and evaluate coverage issues; prepare comprehensive coverage letters with supervisory review; retain and provide direction to coverage counsel when necessary.
- Assess exposure and resolve claims within established evaluation; maintain diaries; ensure claim files are timely and properly documented with clear analysis on coverage, damages, reserves, and liability; include an action plan for resolution.
- Process and pay invoices in a timely manner.
- Coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management.
- Calculate and assign reserves; monitor reserve accuracy throughout the life of the claim.
- Refer case to supervisor/management as appropriate.
- Respond to requests or directions in a professional and timely manner.
- Attend arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences and trials.
- Complete required state licensing examinations and continuing education requirements.
- Communicate with internal business partners including underwriters to ensure underwriting is aware of large losses and industry trends.
- Partner with TPA Governance and Relationship Management to help TPAs and insureds comply with claim handling and reporting guidelines.
- Work with TPA Claims Financial to verify the accuracy of TPA financials aligning with TTPO.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of Property claims experience.
- Experience with complex and high exposure Property damage and Business Interruption claims.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation skills.
- Advanced experience and capabilities in litigation claims management, including ADR and mediation processes, involving auto/GL exposures.
- Strong technical expertise interpreting insurance contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of claim handling procedures, claims performance strategies, and claim best practices.
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology and improve skills in benchmarking.
- Creativity in resolving challenging business problems, as well as ability to achieve business goals and objectives.
