About the Role The Commercial HVAC Estimator at Johnson Controls is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for commercial HVAC projects, supporting the sales and project teams from inquiry through bid submission. What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for commercial HVAC systems based on drawings, specifications, and project scope.
- Review and interpret project documents; identify risks and contingencies.
- Collaborate with sales, engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to develop competitive bids.
- Analyze supplier quotes, subcontractor proposals, and market conditions to ensure estimates are accurate and competitive.
- Support bid submissions with structured scopes of work, assumptions, and exclusions. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience estimating commercial HVAC systems and associated costs.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, and installation methods.
- Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools; familiarity with BIM drawings.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills. Nice to Have
- Experience with Johnson Controls products or building management systems.
