About the Role

State of New Jersey invites applications for a full-time College Lecturer (non-tenure track) at Ocean County College in Tom's River, NJ. The role combines instruction and administrative responsibilities, including classroom observations and faculty evaluations, program assessment, and involvement in strategic college initiatives. The position starts Fall 2026 and is a 12-month, in-person role.

What You'll Do

  • Teach 36 credit hours annually: 15 credit hours in each fall and spring term, and 6 credit hours during summer sessions.
  • Conduct classroom observations and evaluate faculty for future employment decisions (reappointments, promotions, sabbaticals, hiring, termination and part-time contract renewals).
  • Conduct academic assessments to develop or improve new or existing programs and to eliminate obsolete programs or courses.
  • Contribute to student success by engaging in strategic planning, accreditation processes, orientation, student advising, commencements, and a variety of college and community liaison initiatives and committees.
  • Lead related projects and initiatives as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Master’s Degree in the academic discipline (Accounting); or a Master’s Degree with 18 graduate credits in the academic discipline; or Master’s Degree in a different field with at least five years of related professional experience and/or professional certification and licensure.
  • Two years’ full-time teaching experience in the field or at least six semesters of part-time college-level teaching.
  • Experience teaching in diverse environments including students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • One year of experience working in distance learning or using instructional technology.
  • One year of experience evaluating teaching effectiveness and conducting classroom observations or supervisory experience including evaluation of subordinates.
  • One year of experience teaching in a community college environment.
  • Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
