Job Description
Responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising and controlling cold cutting activities, personnel, equipment and documentation to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution of cold cutting work.
Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate cold cutting activities for piping, pipelines, vessels, tanks, structural members, spools, risers, manifolds and other equipment.

Review work scopes, drawings, specifications and site conditions before execution.

Develop or coordinate preparation of method statements, risk assessments, JSA/JHA and work packs.

Determine appropriate cold cutting method and equipment for each application.

Coordinate mobilization, inspection and availability of cold cutting equipment and accessories.

Verify equipment certification, inspection status and suitability for the planned work.

Coordinate cold cutting technicians, riggers, mechanical personnel, HSE and QA/QC personnel.

Liaise with the Company/Client representative and other contractors regarding work interfaces and execution priorities.

Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO, isolation, SIMOPS and site safety requirements.

Coordinate cold cutting activities during shutdowns, turnarounds, brownfield modifications, emergency repairs, pipeline replacement and decommissioning projects.

Monitor work progress, productivity and resource utilization.

Ensure cutting activities are executed in accordance with approved procedures and work packs.

Coordinate lifting and removal of cut sections with competent rigging personnel.

Identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.

Conduct or participate in pre-job meetings and toolbox talks.

Monitor equipment condition and arrange replacement or repair where required.

Coordinate inspection and QA/QC requirements associated with completed cutting work.

Maintain cutting logs, equipment records, daily reports, progress reports and other required documentation.

Manage work interfaces with welding, fitting, scaffolding, mechanical, NDT, coating and other disciplines.

Report incidents, near misses, equipment failures, delays and non-conformities.

Ensure proper demobilization, housekeeping and handover following completion of work.

Minimum/Preferred Requirements
-
Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, Welding, Fitting or a related discipline.

Significant experience coordinating/supervising cold cutting or mechanical cutting operations in oil & gas, petrochemical, marine or heavy industrial environments.

Demonstrated knowledge of cold cutting technologies and their applications.
-
Experience in shutdown/turnaround and brownfield projects is preferred.

Good understanding of PTW, LOTO, isolation, SIMOPS and process safety.

Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary work teams and interface with clients/contractors.
-
Strong planning, reporting and communication skills.
-
Relevant HSE and site/offshore certifications as applicable.
