A modern cafe located in Lekki, Lagos, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Barista to join their team.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of high-quality coffee and other beverages, ensuring excellent customer service, and contributing to the smooth daily operations of the cafe. You will operate espresso machines, steam milk, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience, a passion for coffee, and strong interpersonal skills. Candidates living around Lekki and Ajah are particularly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, including cappuccino, latte, mocha and other specialty beverages.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders and other beverage equipment.
• Steam and texture milk and maintain consistent drink quality.
• Take customer orders and process payments using the POS system.
• Recommend beverages and other menu items to customers.
• Maintain a clean and organised coffee station and equipment.
• Monitor beverage supplies, assist with inventory checks and minimise wastage.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and support general cafe operations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years' experience as a Barista in a cafe or similar beverage environment.
• Practical knowledge of espresso preparation and coffee-making techniques.
• Ability to operate commercial espresso machines and grinders.
• Good milk-steaming and texturing skills.
• Latte art skills are an advantage.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and personal hygiene.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
