About the Role ExxonMobil is seeking a technical specialist to demonstrate and commercialize ProxximaTM polyolefin thermoset coatings. The role will involve working from the Shanghai Technology Center with close collaboration with Baytown Technology and Engineering Complex in Texas, and supporting customer trials across the AP region. The successful candidate will help customers adopt Proxxima64 coatings and contribute to the portfolio's IP through tests, data and collateral.

What You'll Do

• Provide technical support to prospective AP customers using Proxxima64 polyolefin thermoset resins and catalysts to develop anti-corrosion, marine, atmospheric, and other industrial coatings.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of coatings based on pure Proxxima64 polyolefin thermoset products and hybrids, optimizing coating performance for various applications within the Coatings segment.
• Collaborate with technical and commercial colleagues to grow Proxxima64 business in the coatings segment.
• Work in STC lab and leverage 3rd party resources to fabricate defect-free coating samples, assess corrosion resistance and other performance parameters under target service conditions.
• Assist customers in application processes (spray, brush, roller) optimization and provide guidance on equipment upgrades as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect market intelligence and provide technical insights to update Coatings segment strategy and guide new developments.
• Contribute as part of the global team to develop novel technology, strengthen IP portfolio, and author technical reports and marketing collateral.
• Spend significant time collaborating with Baytown colleagues and occasionally traveling to support customer trials in the AP region.

What We're Looking For

• MS or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Coatings Science, Polymer Science, Materials Science or related degree.
• 10+ years of industrial experience formulating high-performance thermoset coatings (epoxy, polyurethane, polyurea and IPNs) with proven commercial products.
• Familiar with coating industry standards, especially anti-corrosion, marine, atmospheric and automotive coatings.
• Proven market-facing experience with strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent English oral communication.
• Experience in multinational companies is a plus.
• Good team player and self-motivated.
• Hands-on experience with coating-related test methods.
• Knowledgeable of Intellectual property development/assessment/procurement.

Nice to Have

• Willingness to travel occasionally to support AP region trials and Baytown collaboration; experience in multinational environments.
